I started my career in the NHS and Public Sector where I ultimately held roles as Board and Non-Executive Director. I have extensive experience of leading and negotiating change in complex organisations and across multi-agency partnerships. Since leaving the NHS in 1997 I established STRAD Consulting to provide management and leadership consultancy and coaching.

I believe that releasing the passion of people in the business is the key that unlocks change and leads to the way forward. As a coach I work with leaders and teams to identify and achieve their goals, purpose and aspirations, creating improved performance, and removing blocks to progress.

Music is another important element of my life – I am a passionate amateur musician playing violin and viola in a number of orchestras and chamber ensembles. The perspective this gives me on being immersed in a diverse team, producing more than the ‘sum of the parts’, is invaluable learning as well as enormous pleasure! I aim to integrate the different aspects of my own life in the same way as I work with clients to get the balance you want in your life.

I am an accredited coach with (and member of) the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and completed the NLP European Coach certificated training with ITS (Ian McDermott) in 2006. I hold the NLP Master Practitioner qualification and am a Graduate of the Newfield ‘Mastery in Coaching’ programme.

I belong to the UK Association for Coaching. I also have a diploma in Business Coaching from Newcastle College, and a certificate in Coaching for Performance from City University.

Complementing my coach training I have a broad experience of other personal development approaches including ‘Time to Think’ and Re-evaluation co-counselling. My first degree in Psychology was followed by a Masters degree, gained through an in-depth study of technically trained people experiencing significant transition in mid career; and complemented by an MBA from Bath University.
